Early style 928 seats present very specific restoration challenges. Recaro made some weird choices when they designed these seats.

While the design of the inserts is beautiful, the way it was carried out, is the basic reason why none of these have survived in anything near an acceptable shape.

The whole construction of the inserts relied only on glue to keep it's shape. The pattern of the inserts itself, didn't help either.

They revised all this in the second generation 928S4 seats, and while they carried over the same insert design, it now included a much better pattern and some structural ties and supports.

My plan here, was to keep the look of the original, while incorporating the construction updates of the later generation and some nice custom touches that would have been impractical in a mass production setting.

Updated seat inserts, with mechanical anchors for longevity and comfort.

Unlike the originals, these will keep their shape for a long time.
